Residential

Ojai

This custom retreat is a contemporary take on the spanish courtyard homes of the area, blended with the agricultural vernacular which works so well in the Ojai Valley. The home's layout has two wings of bedrooms wrapped around a double-height living area, flanked by a chef's kitchen, and opening onto a walk-out pool deck. The orientation of the home frames stunning views of the nearby mountains, and reflects the sunset from the west through the pool.

Addison Street

Stunningly open and bright new home on a double-width lot. This house takes advantage to create large flowing spaces on the first floor, focusing on usable indoor/outdoor connections. The private quarters are upstairs, with a generous master suite, lounge, laundry near the bedrooms and other thoughtful touches. Modern materials combine with timeless wood accents to reinforce the residential scale of this home.

Ashby Ave

Effectively a  completely new home, this remodel and addition moved a detached garage to the front of property to create a full size rear yard. The family and living areas of the home feature clerestory window ringed high ceilings to complement the open plan. We've highlighted this space from front to rear with butterfly rooves, a dramatic design statement from the street. A mud room, laundry and walk-in pantry round out the conveniences.

Bowling Green

This new construction home features 5 bedrooms in 4,200sf. The ground floor has a spacious open plan living arrangement focusing on the indoor/outdoor flow to rear yard and pool. On the second floor, things are a little less formal, with a sitting area and several balconies.

Grand View

A gracious new 4,300sf modern home featuring open floor plan, generous yards, 5 bedrooms and most everything else you could want on a killer site. Views to Catalina and the Hollywood sign make this a standout home.

Louella Ave

The original house of 1,500sf was a wreck, the byproduct of many poorly planned additions and years of defered maintenance. Working with Mashpee Builders we opened the ground level, added new kitchen and family areas to the rear and added a dramatic second floor to the home capturing light and views. All new finishes throughout tie the home together with an upscale beachy-modern feel

Globe Ave.

This 220sf master suite addition has a wonderful open plan, high ceilings, and daylight everywhere. Completely surrounded with a multi-zoned party yard, a large wood covered patio houses built-in concrete seating around a fire-pit, a water-feature links to the bar and deck with hot-tub and lounging area.

We're also replaced the concrete driveway with a drivable engineered grass system to keep storm water on-site, and keep the temperatures down in the patio. This place has really come together well as a complete indoor/outdoor lifestyle home!

Bora Bora Kitchen

Gutting and replacement of an outdated but functional kitchen. New design is light, airy and cheerful with a new eat-in area. This was acheived by moving the entry to the kitchen from entry hall to the dining area. All Bosch appliances, engineered low-voc flooring and factory built cabinetry help with the embodied energy and off-gassing of this kitchen.

Kenter Ave.

This classic hillside post and beam house was expanded and updated for a family of four. Gutted to studs, the floorplan was tweaked and updated to add a guest bedroom, laundry room, dining room and master suite. The kitchen and bath were updated accordingly.

The main goal of the addition and renovation was to respect the original design of the house, highlighting the structure and views. New structural reinforcements allow for expanded glass, and new transom windows along the view wall.

The master bathroom and walk-in closet are still under construction.

Mentone Ave.

This master suite addition has a wonderful open plan, high ceilings, and daylight everywhere. The room is engineered such that roof appears to float over the space, just enough to keep rain out, but not any light. With a new master bath and walk in closets we've made this house into something special.
